Sad news for the Calgary Women's Fastpitch Association family
At the end of November the CWFA lost 2 long term family members. Terry Fukami and Kevin Bristow both passed away on November 26th, 2025. They will both be missed and we send our thoughts and prayers to their families
Terry was a coach, a mentor, an umpire and a friend. He coached in the CWFA and also was an umpire for many CWFA games through out the season, tournaments and playdowns. He was one of the first to step up to volunteer for things like the Casino and the tournament. Terry was gentleman and he was a proud member of the CWFA family
Kevin has been involved with the CWFA since it's start and before mainly as the coach of the Calgary Ricochet. He has promoted the female game and was always there to lend a helping hand and to provide feedback to the CWFA as a long standing member. He will missed by his team and the league.
It is sad when family members leave, it is important that we continue to bring their legacy's forward and stive to provide the groundwork for our participants to continue playing this great game. To the teams that have lost leaders we send our thoughts and hope you can work through these times and celebrate what they brought into your lives.
As for me, I say goodbye to a couple of friends who I will miss. I hope we can remember your contributions and hope your still running teams somewhere.
